Long Lake joins Old Forge, Inlet, Raquette Lake, Blue Mt. Lake, and Indian Lake Memorial Day weekend for over 70 miles of garage sales.  Long Lake boasts over 21 sales throughout the town.  Maps will be available at area businesses on Thursday evening as the Garage sales get underway on Friday morning.  In other news… its been hovering around 90 degrees the last few days.  The lake is warm for a swim.  Yes there are still black flies.  We’ve talked about citronella, putting out bounce fabric softener on trees, pouring lime in private brooks, flies love the perfume Charlie, wear white, go dark, live large.   They are annoying little buggers, but hopefully they will be gone soon having fried their eggs in this heat. Kick of the summer season this weekend in Long Lake and go home with treasure.  Long Lake joins Old Forge, Inlet, Raquette Lake, Blue Mt.
