Camping in the Adirondacks can take many different forms, but at John Dillon Park it offers a mobility accessible camping experience in lean-to’s and tent sites on the exclusive Grampus Lake and best of all it’s free! John Dillon Park was built and opened in 2006 in a collaborative effort between International Paper, Paul Smith’s and the brainchild of Christine Snide, former Town Supervisor for the Town of Long Lake. John Dillon Park is located at 2150 Tupper Road/Route 30, Long Lake NY and is open daily between 9am- 6pm with eight lean-to’s and one tent site. It is two miles down a dirt road deep into the wilderness and found along International Paper’s Grampus Lake. Paul Smith’s College oversees the facility by providing three terrific staffer’s ready to make your wilderness experience as comfortable and rewarding as possible. You need firewood, they’ll fill your wood box. You need your garbage taken care of, it is removed daily, want a boat ride? Stop by the visitor’s center, just ask, the friendly staff will do everything to make your stay comfortable.
