These infectiously fun games are designed for kids of all ages. Have a favorite? We do them all! The three-legged race, sack races, relay, egg toss, treasure hunt, and more. Kid’s Painting & Art Class:
Be the next Rockwell Kent or Arthur Fitzwilliam Tait. Create, paint, express yourself in a light summer class custom designed to your level of ability. Paint and draw in nature. Offered on Wednesday’s 1 – 3pm until August 17th. Mt. Sabattis Geiger Arena. For kids ages 9-12. Call 518.624.3077 to sign up. $3 per class

The Amazing Race Road Rally:
Tuesday, July 19th, 7pm at Mt. Sabattis Geiger Arena. Drive around Long Lake following a ridiculous set of instructions. Every car must have licensed driver and a navigator comfortable reading the kooky directions provided. This is a timed event (not a race!) If you get in too quickly you will be disqualified! Come in closest to the time as deemed by event organizers and the B-Team testers!. Ever heard of a Chinese Fire Drill? Ever stood in the middle of town and wave at strangers? Now is your chance. $5 a car. Driver and Navigator required. Bring the whole family. Fun for everyone! Wear costumes to help shave time off your score!

Monday Night: Open Soccer, 6pm LL Town Ball Field with Jim Piraino ages 12 and up.
Tuesday Night: Women’s/Girls Softball Pitching Clinic, 6pm LL Town Ballfield with Rick Miller. Ages 12 and up.
Wednesday Night: Women’s Soccer with Dave Olbert. 6pm LL Town Ball Field. Ages 12 and up. Hone your skills, participate in a pick up game. It’s free and open to everyone. Long Lake is everyone’s playground, why not make it yours?

Float Night:
Friday, July 15th with Adirondack DJ Glen LaBlanc and Friday, August 12th with music by the Horseshoe Lounge Playboys. 5pm – 8pm. Cardboard Box Float Races! Use only duct tape and cardboard to make your boat! Last one floating wins! The Town of Long Lake will provide cardboard and duct tape, but feel free to create your masterpiece at home. Prizes awarded! Order dinner and picnic on the beach. Enjoy music, fun and games at the waterfront under Red Cross Certified Lifeguard Supervision. Bring your chairs and your blankets. Games & prizes for kids. All ages welcome. Come by boat, plane, feet or car.

Cool Crazy Boat Regatta:
Friday, July 15th, 2011. For 2011 we’ve changed the game! It’s fun, it’s cool and kooky! Boat races for all ages. Free Registration! A long standing tradition in Long Lake with a twist! Celebrate the waters by participating in a round of family friendly canoe, kayak, sailing, sculling and rowboat races at the LL Town Beach. Boats and Lifejackets provided. The Long Lake Lions Club sells a great BBQ and the lifeguards are on duty if you want to swim. Sponsored by the LL Association. Free registration 9:30am. Races start at 10am.

Zoomobile:
On August 3rd Raquette Lake Library at 10am and Long Lake – Mt. Sabattis Pavilion at Noon. Exotic creatures visit from the Utica Zoo. A mobile unit transports a variety of creatures (not native to the Adirondacks) Meet snakes, lizards, turtles during this unique visit. In the morning the Zoomobile visits the RL Library at 10am and expect the Zoomobile to arrive in LL at the Mt. Sabattis Pavilion around Noon. (depending on traffic!).

The AC Kid’s Experience:
The AC KIDS EXPERIENCE in Long Lake
MORNING VISUAL ARTS SESSION: 10:30 am – 12:30 pm
AFTERNOON PERFORMING ARTS SESSION: 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm
OR STAY for the day and bring your own lunch 10:30 am – 3:00 pm.
Students can come for individual classes or stay for the day and attend both classes. Remember to bring a smock or large t-shirt to protect clothes for art classes and clothes you can move
comfortably in for theater classes.Tuesdays- Mt. Sabattis Geiger Arena, Long Lake
CLASS LIMIT: 12 so reserve your spot. (AGES 7-12 )

Scavenger Hunt:
On August 10th at 6pm in Long Lake. Pick up the master list ranging from easy to unusual in the Long Lake Scavenger Hunt. Open to all ages. Time limit and fun for the whole family. Prizes too! Meet at the Geiger Arena to pick up your list at 6pm. Within the 448 square miles of Long Lake we have driftwood, picnic tables, lifejackets, coins, chicken wings, beach sand, vacation planners, fur pelts… who knows what will be on the list? It’s anyone’s guess, but join us!
