Life in LL Today

Long Lake Legion 2009 Memorial Day

Long Lake Legion 2009 Memorial Day

Two days ago it was 80 degrees and beautiful. Yesterday, another humidish day, but the wind kicked up in the afternoon, shaking windows, blowing trees. My cousin was down the lake (that’s the Northend) moving docks over to camp. Our family boat still rests in the garage driveway at the marina, teasing me each time I drive by. I’m sure once the black flies are in full force, my boat will be ready.

This morning it was 30 degrees. It was virtually impossible to get the kids out of bed.

Today discussion was all about the summer. Where garbage cans go, what the garbage route is and how often it’s picked up. Don’t leave anything for the bears!

Next big event is Memorial Day. The American Legion of Long Lake honors those who served our country in a long standing tribute of respect and an honor to the freedom of the United States and all the sacrifices made by those who’ve died and served our country. This tradition is carried on from generation to generation and makes me proud to call myself a Long Laker.
