The Feeling Long Lakey Polar Plunge was held on Saturday, December 30th at the Long Lake Town Beach. Twenty teams boasting 44 Plungers raised $7621.72 for the Wounded Warrior Project.
Temperatures hovered around 28 F when the plunge kicked off at noon.
Fundraising efforts support Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) programs and services, which are provided at no cost to warriors and their families. Through their efforts at the community level, the “Feeling Long Lakey Polar Plunge” is directly supporting WWP programs and services for warriors, which include access to mental and physical health care, employment assistance, and education services.
Blood pressure checks are performed on all the participants by the Long Lake Rescue Squad at the Adirondack Hotel.
Volunteer judges, Laura Young, Colleen Smith and Jennifer Jurczack scored participants on costumes, themes and Best in Show.

Long Lake Central School provided a warm bus, the Long Lake Fire Department and Long Lake Rescue Squad provided medical and safety personnel on site during the plunge. This event was sponsored by the Long Lake Parks and Recreation Department.
