Join the Town of Long Lake in celebrating the Fourth of July with our annual celebration festivities. The day is full of family friendly activities starting with the Fourth of July Games in the morning, food, snacks, swimming and fun in the afternoon and a free concert with the Yacht Lobsters. End the night with the best fireworks in the Adirondacks with friends and family.
Starting at 10am, join us at the Long Lake Town Ball Field for games for people of all ages. Classic favorites include crab walk, wheel-barrow race, sack races, egg toss and a three-legged race. Children will have a great time competing for prizes and, with over 1,000 prizes to choose from, children will want to join in the activities again and again.
The activities move to the beach so stick around throughout the afternoon for food and fun!
Don’t miss the Long Lake Lions Club selling strawberry shortcake on the Beach from 12pm until sold out, followed by the Long Lake Fire Department selling their famous sausage, onion and peppers, as well as hamburgers and hotdogs on the Beach from 3pm until sold out.
Finish out the evening dancing until dark with live music from the Yacht Lobsters, starting at 6:30pm. Their big sound recreates – and at times reimagines – the studio mastery of retro-rock icons like Steely Dan, the Doobie Brothers, Hall & Oates, Toto, etc.
It’s the breezy Yacht Rock cool vibe you know and love, fused with stellar vocals, a full horn section and unique elements of NOLA funk, classic rock and jazz improvisation to keep things bouncy, set your mood to festive and ensure your boat’s a-rockin’. There’s even a tasteful smattering of original music that sounds like it stepped right out of 1978.
The evening concludes with the best fireworks in the Adirondacks at dusk. Fireworks can be seen from the beach, boat, or the Mt. Sabattis Pavilion. We look forward to seeing you there!
