
The Raquette Lake Winter Carnival will kick off on Saturday, February 15th with youth activities starting at 10:30am. Games will include a variety of fun activities for kids including sack race, sledding, tire obstacle, balloon chase, and tug-of-war. At noon there will be a Ladies Frying Pan Toss with cash prizes of $75, $50, $25. Weather permitting, the Team Ice Golf Competition will be held throughout the day for teams with cash prizes of $75, $50, $25.
Registration for events will take place at the Raquette Lake Library or with Kat Forsell. Round out the day by warming up at the bonfire.
The Rough Raquette Lake 5K will take place on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. in Raquette Lake. This event is sponsored by SUNY Cortland W.H. Parks Family Environmental and Outdoor Education Center. This annual winter race offers participants the choice of a 5K snowshoe race or a one-mile fun run/walk on a completely flat course across the ice.
Registration will be held on the steps of Raquette Lake Supply until 8:50 a.m. on race day. Instead of a registration fee, participants are encouraged to make a suggested donation of $40 for the 5K and $25 for the one-mile fun run/walk. At 2 p.m. All ages are invited to the Dusty and Dott Puppet Show at the Raquette Lake Library. Dusty & Dott are best friends. They love to tell stories, play games, and go on adventures. With Dusty’s bounding curiosity (he is a dog after all), Dott does her best to keep up with all of his questions. They are constantly learning new tricks, together!
This show is free and open to all ages.
On Saturday night enjoy fireworks at 7pm.
Sunday, February 16th at 8am the Raquette Lake Ladies Auxiliary will host a Pancake Breakfast at the Raquette Lake Fire Hall. At Noon the traditional Cross-Cut / Chainsaw competition will be held on the Raquette Lake Village Green. This long-standing tradition is a not to be missed event featuring timed men’s, women’s and mixed divisions and no experience is necessary.
Cookie donations are requested for Saturday, February 15th. Please drop off at the Raquette Lake Library. As in years past the Raquette Lake Library will be open for hot chocolate, cookies and warmth all day on Saturday. Raquette Lake Events Coordinator Kat Forsell and volunteer Elizabeth Forsell will be coordinating the events of the weekend.
