The Town of Long Lake Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Department is excited to welcome Jake Fisch as the new Long Lake Events Coordinator. Jake will be leading the charge on event planning, logistics, and community engagement, working closely with Director Alex Bearslayer Verner Roalsvig and the entire Parks and Recreation team. Jake will be collaborating with both Long Lake and Raquette Lake to ensure a packed calendar of year-round events for residents and visitors. His enthusiasm is infectious, and he brings fresh energy to planning and running events.
Jake grew up in Troy, New York, and has been visiting Long Lake regularly for the last 16 years. In his new role, he’s eager to be hands-on and proactive in the community.
A classically trained stage actor and a graduate of SUNY Purchase, Jake is no stranger to the spotlight. Now, he’s bringing that same passion and creativity to event planning.
Jake looks forward to kicking off the summer with the 4th of July Games, Music by the Lake, the Road Rally and more surprises along the way. And, of course, nothing beats a Long Lake summer—especially the sunrises over the water, his personal favorite.
Some in town might already know him as Mr. Fisch, from his time as a long-term substitute teacher at Long Lake Central School. Others know him as Coach Fisch, “that guy,” or “the guy that works at Brookside Hops and Hoagies.”
Beyond events, Jake has been actively involved in the community for over a year, helping “bring back hockey to Long Lake” through the Adirondack Local Culture Program, a youth program based out of the Mt. Sabattis Geiger Arena led by Rebecca Stoner LaFountain.
Jake is looking forward to diving into everything Long Lake and Raquette Lake have to offer. If you have questions or event ideas, feel free to reach out to him at events@mylonglake.com. And if you see him around town, don’t be shy—he loves meeting new faces!
