The Jay Walken Band to Play Long Long Lake July 4th

The Town of Long Lake’s 4th of July Celebration culminates in a terrific rock and roll show on the Long Lake Town Beach with the Jay Walken Band. Jay Lamica is the drummer for the Plattsburg based band and he was born and raised in Long Lake.

Questions for the Band:

How long has the band been together?

The present line-up has been together for 6yrs. Jamie VanEtten on lead guitar & lead vocals, Tom Nisen on lead guitar and lead vocals, Jim Chauvin on Bass guitar and lead vocals, Jay Lamica, drums and lead vocals.

What is the weirdest gig you’ve ever played?

The most unusual gig has got to be when we were selected to do a live “on-air” radio performance in St. Albans, VT. When we arrived we were informed that we couldn’t do anything electric, just acoustic guitars, and no drums !!! Hummm, what were we gonna do ? Ok, pull out the acoustics, put the bass players amp 40ft down the hallway, I used a music stand as my drumset, ( with brushes ) and we played a bluegrass tune called ” Sittin’ on top of the world”. It came off like gangbusters !! Whew….pulled it off, no prob.

What is the most requested son?

The most requested song still to this day is “Sweet Home Alabama” by Skynyrd.

What can folks expect for the 4th of July?

On the 4th, our fans can expect to hear a top notch show focused around today’s new country music, and lots of classic and southern rock with some blues and originals as well. The name of our summer 2012 tour is called “Tattoos, Bars and Guitars.
