Celebrate President’s Week in Long Lake with tons of winter activities and events held daily.
Kicking off the schedule is a Kids Movie Night featuring Incredibles 2 at the Town Hall on Friday the 15th, with transportation to and from provided by the Town. Call 518-624-3077 to sign up, pick up will begin around 4pm, with drop occurring directly following the movie.
Over the weekend Raquette Lake is the place to be with their annual Winter Carnival the 16th & 17th. Fun for all ages, and games throughout the day, including Ice Golf, Ladies Frying Pan Toss, Tug O’ War, and many more. The good times kick off at 11am, with the magic show happening at 2pm in the Raquette Lake Library. And don’t forget to come back on Sunday for the ever popular Crosscut and Chainsaw competitions starting at 12pm.
Monday the 18th the Town of Long Lake will be offering a Snowmobile Safety course in the Town Hall from 9am-5pm. There are limited spaces available, so sign up early by calling 518-624-3077. Lunch provide by the Town of Long Lake.
Tuesday’s destination is Oak Mountain in Speculator for an afternoon of snow tubing with lunch provided by the Town of Long Lake. Transportation is available on the Little Bus, leaving at 10am, sign up by calling 518-624-3077.
Wednesday’s cure for cabin fever is a Kids’ Art Class hosted by local artist and Incapahco Studios owner Louisa at the Town Hall starting at 11am. Kids will have the opportunity for hands on instruction with a local artist, and supplies, tools and materials will be provided. Sign up is highly encouraged, by calling 518-624-3077.

For anyone looking for a little winter exercise, join us at the Geiger Arena on Thursday at 11am for a semi-guided Nordic ski around Long Lake. Skis can be procured through Hoss’s Country Corner or the ADK Trading Post, and all ability levels are welcome. Rentals and tour are free, and sponsored by the Town of Long Lake.
Friday the 22nd we have the perfect cap to a holiday week, the return of the Hors D’Oeuvres Tour starting at 5pm. The Little Bus will be running to ferry everyone between the participating businesses, and tickets must be purchased ahead of time by visiting www.mylonglake.com/tour, or by calling 518-624-3077.
And don’t forget the Geiger Ice Skating Rink and Sledding Hill will be open extended hours all week. Opening daily at 1pm – 5pm/6pm – 10pm. Free ice skates, sledding hill, bonfires on Saturday night.
