On Saturday, September 21st the Long Boat Regatta returns to the shores of Long Lake. This long-standing racing tradition has been happening on the waters of Long Lake as the finale race of a busy race season for over 20 years.
The race course boasts a 10 mile stretch. Boats of all classes launch from the Long Lake Town Beach and head south under the bridge to Camp Hilary and Moose Island and then turn around and return north to Round Island.
This event is spearheaded by Macs Canoes and the organizers of the 90 Miler. Registration is from 9:30am – 10:30am on the porch of the Adirondack Hotel at $25 per person. Paddlers are welcome to register their boats. Colleges participate with teams from Hamilton and Paul Smiths College regularly making appearances.
The camaderie of the racers is clear. Some return year after year to participate. In 2016 a family of three, who’ve never participated in any paddling race before, took a chance and registered their boat. They enjoyed the day, made some great friends and got to have a unique vacation experience.
Spectators are invited to the Town Beach to watch. The Long Lake Lions Club will be on site serving lunch to the participants and anyone who wants to pop in for a delicious lunch.

Registration starts at 930am on race day. The race start is at 11am.
