Free Paddling Clinic Thursday and Paddling Olympics Friday

The Paddling Olympics kick off on Friday, July 22nd with registration at 10:30am and Competition at 11am. No experience is necessary, and it’s a great way to introduce kids and teens to the fun of water sports.


Events include Canoe Races, Hand Paddling, Back Paddling, Four -Person Relay, Stand Up Paddle Board Races, Kayak Races, Kayak Back Paddling and Canoe Tug-O-War. The Long Lake Lions Club will be on site serving up Hot Dogs, and Sausage and Pepper Sandwiches. There will be awards and recognition.

Participants in the past include visitors who have no experience paddling a watercraft and it’s a great way to learn a new skill and find a fun new activity while on vacation.

Novice Paddler? Don’t worry we have paddle expert, Caleb Davis on Thursday, July 21st from 7pm – 8pm. Kids that participate receive a coupon for an ice cream cone!

Lake Stewards at Long Lake DEC Boat Launch, Lake Eaton, and Forked Lake:
Memorial Day through Labor Day. 7 AM 4 PM and earlier for special events There is a boat washing station located at the Kickerville Station located on NYS Route 30, Tupper Road, Long Lake, NY

Paddling Clinic with Caleb Davis:
Thursday, July 21st, 7- 8 PM at Long Lake Town Beach. Paddles, canoes, and life-vests will be supplied, or bring your own.

Long Lake Paddling Olympics at the Long Lake Town Beach:
Friday, July 22th, 11 AM – 2:30 PM. Registration at 10:30 AM at the beach. Volunteers welcome. Please contact Kathy Duffendack at 624-2780.

Long Lake Association Annual Get-Together:
Friday, Aug 12th, 4-5:30 PM at the ADK Hotel. Causal meeting to mingle and update on 2016 events with special guest speaker. Hors d’oeuvres served.

Long Lake 2nd Annual Pontoon Boat Raft Up:
Saturday Aug 13th (rain day Aug 14th) from 2-6 PM at Keller Bay (1 mile north of the bridge)

About the AC

The Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts is a multi-disciplinary arts center, serving over 2,000 square miles of the Adirondack Park. The Arts Center serves as a presenter, producer and educator in the artistic disciplines of visual arts, theater, music, dance, and film throughout the Adirondack region.

The Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts produces professional theater in the summer (2 musicals, Shakespeare in the Park, plus 1 site-specific production) and in the off-season produces community performances featuring local talent. In collaboration with other organizations, the Arts Center presents concerts (classical, instrumental, world music, folk, bluegrass, punk, rock) and dance performances (modern, ballet, hip hop, ballroom, African, tap).
