5 Reasons to go to the Waterski Show

The US Waterski Show Team will perform in Long Lake NY at the Long Lake Town Beach on Saturday, July 20th.  Demonstrations of pyramids, tricks and barefoot waterskiing begin at the Town Beach starting at 10am with the team performance at 2 p.m.  The showcase will be along the Long Lake beach waterfront in front of the Helms Seaplane Base and the Long Lake Town Beach along NYS Route 30. Spectators are invited to enjoy a dazzling array of synchronized jumps and quadruple-decker pyramids and glittery costumes.
 
The US Waterski Show Team is a water-ski club based out of Scotia NY.  The club can be seen weekly on Tuesday nights in front of Jumpin’ Jacks Drive In along the Mohawk River.
 
Other beach activities on July 20th include the Cardboard Boat Box Float Contest starting at 11am. Children of all ages build a boat out of cardboard and duct tape provided by the from 11am to 1pm.  Pre-built boats are welcome to float, but boats must be made out of cardboard and tape only.  No floatation devices can be part of the boat construction. The Float Off competition starts at 1pm. All activities are at the Long Lake Town Beach located at 1258 Main Street, NYS Route 30, Long Lake, NY.
 
Free Parking is available at Long Lake Central School located on School Street off of Main Street, Route 30, at the former site of the Long Lake Highway Garage at 1179 Main Street, along Becker Road behind the Town Hall. There will be limited parking available near the beach.  Bring your lawn chairs, beach blankets and get ready for fun on the beach!

Cardboard Box Float Off & Waterski Show

The Cardboard Boat Box Float off happens on the Long Lake Town Beach, rain or shine, on Saturday, July 15th.  Building begins at 11am with float off commencing at 1pm.  Boats can be made out of cardboard and duct tape only.  

The early morning rain is expected to subside by 11am.  

Register for the float race at the Long Lake Town Beach with Steph and Maria.  First roll of duct tape is free and $5 a roll after the first.  

While the Box Race is happening, enjoy the US Waterski Show Team as they perform demo’s from 10am.  The  on featured performance officially kicks off at 3pm.   The Long Lake Little Bus will be available to shuttle people to the downtown area.  Wave it down or call 518.323.5001 for a ride.  Public parking is available at the LL Central School Lot or near the LL Town Ball Field adjacent to St. Henry’s Church. 

There will be no boat traffic from from 2:45pm – 4pm for the safety of the water-skiers.

Food will be sold at the beach by the ADK Trading Post.  Look for their infamous Lobster Rolls, Taco in a Bag and Chicken in a Cup.

The US Waterski Show Team is coming to Long Lake NY at the Long Lake Town Beach on Saturday, July 15th.  Demonstrations of pyramids, tricks and barefoot waterskiing begin at the Town Beach starting at 10am with the team performance at 3pm.  The showcase will be along the waterfront in front of the Helms Aeroplane Base and the Long Lake Town Beach along NYS Route 30.  Spectators are invited to enjoy a dazzling array of synchronized jumps and quadruple-decker pyramids and glittery costumes.

The club was founded in 1968 and it is the only one in New York State.  Members of the waterski club include schoolteachers, engineers, contractors and college students.

Lobster Rolls, Taco and a Bag and more will be sold on the beach by the ADK Trading Post and North Country Kettle Corn will be on hand selling Cotton Candy and Kettle Corn.

US Waterski Show Team Visits Long Lake in 2015

Looking for an exciting event to take the whole family to? Look no further than the US Water Ski Show Team at the Long Lake Town Beach. On Saturday, July 18th, come out and witness pyramids, jumps, stunts and barefoot waterskiing! Demos begin at 10 a.m., with the main event beginning at 3 p.m.

Founded in 1968, the US Water Ski Show Team is based out of Scotia, N.Y., and has a proud history of over 40 years of exciting crowds across the northeast! This family oriented organization promises to knock your socks off with a high-caliber water ski show.

Crowds are invited to grab a beach towel, find a comfy spot, and enjoy this showcase held along the waterfront from Long Lake Town Beach to Helms Aero Plane Base. Free parking is available at the Long Lake Central School parking lot located on School Street off of Main Street, Route 30, and along Becker Road behind the Town Hall. Spectators are asked not to use St. Henry’s parking lot as services are scheduled at 4 p.m. on Saturday.

In addition to Waterski demo’s starting at 10am there will be a Cardboard Box Boat Building and Float Competition on the Beach starting at 11am with the Float Off at 1pm. The Town will provide one roll of duct tape and cardboard, but participants welcome to bring their own pre-built boat, but it must not have any floatation devices or plastic in the boat. Pure cardboard and tape only to keep it a level playing field. This tradition now in its 6th year is not to be missed entertainment and helps round out a spectacular beach day in Long Lake!

Look for the 3pm showcase along the waterfront in front of the Helms Aeroplane Base and the Long Lake Town Beach. Spectators are invited to enjoy a dazzling array of synchronized jumps and quadruple-decker pyramids and glittery costumes. Demo’s kick off at 10am.

There will be food and concessions available on the beach during the event including North Country Kettle Corn, Hamburgers, Hot Dogs and more.

This showcase is being highlighted in conjunction with the I Love NY Adirondack Challenge Festival Week which culminates on Sunday, July 21st in Indian Lake at Governor Cuomo’s Whitewater invitational event at Byron Park at 11am.

All boat traffic will be stopped from 3pm -4pm near the Long Lake Town Beach. There will be safety perimeters set up from the bridge to just north of the Motel Long Lake. We are trying to minimize wakes and create a large safe space for the waterskiers.

Please use caution when traveling in the area. Look for waterski demo’s throughout the day starting at 10am. In addition there will large jump set in the lake. There will be limited docking available at the Long Lake Public Dock in the afternoon. Come to town early to get a good view of the show. Additional parking can be found at the Long Lake Town Hall, Long Lake Central School, St. Henry’s Parking Lot and as far South as Mt. Sabattis.
