Learn the basics of basketmaking or refine your weaving skills at this one-day class. The basket holds two bottles of wine, or can be used in the bathroom to store rolls of toilet paper or rolled up towels. The base is 5” by 11” and finished dimensions of the basket are 15” wide by 14” tall by 5” across. No prior basket making experience is necessary, and all tools and materials will be provided by the instructor. The class will be held at the Long Lake Town Hall from 9am to 4pm on Thursday, February 20, 2025. Cost, including all materials, is $75 per student. Born and raised in Long Lake, Shea Farrell Carr has been making baskets since 1992; she took ownership ofAdirondack Basket Case from her mother, Patty Farrell, in 2009. This class will be part of the “twilight tour”, as Shea is wrapping up operations and going into retirement at the end of 2025.
