Mt. Sabattis Recreation Area
Mt. Sabattis is located on Deerland Road across from the Long Lake Post Office. This seasonal facility has something for everyone. In summer enjoy the tennis courts, basketball courts and the great view from the top of the hill at the pavilion picnic area.
In the winter there is an ice skating rink and sled hill and Mt. Sabattis is an entrance to the Long Lake Snomwobile Trail System, trail S80
The best feature, is the view. Hikers are invited to utilize the Mountain Bike Trails to explore the mountain and traverse up to the open meadow area at the top. Climb the gravel road or the rolling hills all the way to the top of the mountain for gorgeous views of Long Lake. Feel what it must have been like when the mountain was at one time a golf course.
This mountain is also a link to the Northville Placid Trail system linking. The trail leads hikers to the Long Lake Post Office, a popular spot for Northville-Placid thru hikers to drop packages.
If you carry it in, carry it out.
Please don’t drive up. This is not a road for passenger vehicles. Motorized vehicles are prohibited and are not permitted without out the permission of the Town of Long Lake unless it is a snowmobile during the season.
