We know you are anxiously awaiting a return to Long Lake, NY & Raquette Lake, NY in 2020 and we can’t wait to have you visit. We are working on our safety strategies now to best meet the safety needs of our visitors and second home-owners who are so vital to the heartbeat of our community that we just want to ensure everyone we are working hard to figure it all out.
With that said, everything is constantly evolving and we are working with our local Hamilton County Public Health Department and our North Country Region to bring you all the up to date information.
We know everyone waits all year for a special vacation in Long Lake and we are doing everything we can to have us up and ready for you with our best practices in place throughout our community for the summer season.

DUSK (APPROX 9:30ISH) –Fireworks.
Please note: The Long Lake Town Beach is closed at 6pm. No congregation will be permitted. Fireworks should be viewed from inside vehicles, boats or your home or lodging. Please wear masks viewing fireworks in public spaces. Fire Department and law enforcement parking will be reserved. Please help us stay open by adhering to these measures for this outdoor event.
Ongoing: All physical distancing protocols are currently in place for all parks and public spaces in Long Lake & Raquette Lake. Maintain six feet apart and please wear masks/cloth face-coverings when visiting public spaces and businesses in our community.

JULY 4TH FIREWORKS IN RAQUETTE LAKE ARE CANCELLED! Announced Wed 6-24.
Long Lake is waiting for directives and guidelines from NYS re. 4th of July. State guidelines: Mass gatherings are currently maximum of 50. 6/24.
Please note: There will be no public gathering on the Long Lake Town Beach in 2020 to celebrate the 4th of July. No live music/band, no popcorn, no strawberry shortcake, no Fire Department BBQ.
Beach will be closed to the public at 6pm.
Long Lake kindly requests everyone to please stay six feet apart and wear cloth-face coverings in our public spaces. Any scheduled events in 2020 will follow the guidelines as outlined by the Hamilton Country Public Health & Nursing Department and New York State. Guidelines.
In the event of fireworks displays all viewing would be from boats or cars spaced six feet apart. No tying up of vessels permitted. There will be no permitted public gathering on the Long Lake Town Beach at all in 2020.
9am Kids & Family Scavenger Hunt * Pick up a Clue Sheet at the Long Lake Geiger Arena. This can be done by car, bike or foot. Prizes galore. All groups must stay six feet apart while completing the tasks and wear masks in public spaces while participating in this event when less than six feet away from others. Frequent hand washing and sanitizing recommended per CDC recommendations.
House Decorating & Lights Displays! Light up Long Lake & Raquette Lake with your most iconic display. Outdo the neighbors! Judging July 2nd at dusk. Leave the lights up for a 4th of July viewing of the best looking homes!

It’s the first ever, two-community House/Camp Decorating Contest straddling both Long Lake and Raquette Lake. This is a chance for locals and seasonal residents to celebrate a holiday together during the warm weather season.
Decorate the side of your house most visible from the road, and show off your best, most creative look. The bigger, the brighter, the most lights, the most visible and the most creative will be in the running for the top prize.
This is a historical, once in a lifetime event to celebrate July 4th. All lights and decorations need to be on, and signs ups complete to be eligible for prizes. Judging will be on Thursday, July 2nd at darkness. All displays should be up and on through the 4th of July.
This will be a judged event with prizes for Raquette Lake and Long Lake houses, or camps.

We’re the U.S. Water Ski Show Team−an all-volunteer, non-profit, family oriented organization. Our goal is to leverage the diverse talents of our membership to produce and perform the highest caliber water ski shows available anywhere in the Northeast.
The team has delighted tens of thousands of spectators over it’s proud 40 year history: but we’re not resting on past achievements, we’re focused squarely on the future. Training and development programs, learn-to-ski sessions and community involvement are all core to our team values.

Long Lake Paddling Olympics:
It’s fun, it’s cool and kooky! Boat races for all ages. Try your hand at wild, wet, fun aquatic navigational competition. Registration is free. Look for zany races including Bang and Go Back, Standing Paddling, Hand Paddling, Dress up Relay, Kayak Races, The Dipper, Back Paddling, Hurry Scurry and many more! Boats and Lifejackets provided. The Long Lake Lions Club sells a great BBQ and the lifeguards are on duty if you want to swim. Sponsored by the LL Association. Free registration 10:30am. Races start at 11am.
Author’s Night at Hoss’s Country Corner:
Always the second Tuesday in August at Hoss’s Country Corner. Adirondack Author’s converge under the big red tent to sign autography, showcase their work. Meet the Author’s. Purchase your favorite books, get your souvenir shopping in with a personalized writer’s touch. The wide range of authors include fiction, comedy, Adirondack Lore and history, maps, paddling, hiking. You name it, these author’s have lived it. Meet them and find out what inspired them to put pen to paper.
