Best time of the year. Its the time that we wait for.  The time that we pine for.  The time that makes everything majestic.  Blue skies, lush greenery, warm lakes and rivers.  Activities galore.  Summer is simply a magical time to experience Long Lake & Raquette Lake.    It is a time for tradition. Like our 4th of July festivities celebrating our freedom. Summer is also a time to revel in the calming nature of the forest and trees.  Want more action? Events galore pack our schedule.  Recreation, hiking, biking, climbing, birding, swimming, boating.  Make Long Lake & Raquette Lake your family’s summer camp!


Calendar of Events

We know you are anxiously awaiting a return to Long Lake, NY & Raquette Lake, NY in 2021  and we can’t wait to have you visit.  We are working on our safety strategies now to best meet the safety needs of our visitors and second home-owners who are so vital to the heartbeat of our community that we just want to ensure everyone we are working hard to figure it all out.  

With that said, everything is constantly evolving and we are working with our local Hamilton County Public Health Department and our North Country Region to bring you all the up to date information.  

We know everyone waits all year for a special vacation in Long Lake and we are doing everything we can to have us up and ready for you with our best practices in place throughout our community for the summer season.

4th of July 2021:

DUSK (APPROX 9:30ISH) –Fireworks.


Current NYS DOH Regulations only permit 200 people at outdoor events with masks and social distancing or if we raise the size to offer space for 500 we will need proof of vaccine OR proof of Covid-19 Negative Test within 3 days of event.  NYS residents can download the Excelsior Pass to their phone after vaccination. 

We anticipate these rules will be updated before July 4th, but in case these rules are still in place on July 4th – please be prepared. 

We don’t expect children to be vaccinated as they are not currently eligible to receive the vaccine, but we will require all participants and spectators to wear masks, even outdoors during this event.

10am. The Annual 4th of July Games will begin on the Town Ball Field, Sponsored by the Town of Long Lake. Games for all ages! Classic favorites include small children scavenger hunt, balloon race, sack races, the venerable egg toss, and three-legged race. Children enjoy collecting their winnings from our exclusive prize booth.

6p.m. the Annual 4th of July Celebration will begin at the Town Beach. ** See Covid-19 rules above.   Sponsored by the Town of Long Lake. Live music by Grit and Grace  will be performed at the Town Beach. Attendees to the Beach concert will have to show proof of vaccine OR a Covid-19 Negative test within 3 days before entry to the viewing area at the beach. All guests are required to wear masks and space groups out at least 6-10 feet apart. ** All rules subject to change without notice.

WE ASK ANY GROUPS VIEWING THE FIREWORKS in Downtown Long Lake to please SPACE OUT AT LEAST 6-10 FEET APART AND WEAR MASKS and /or view from the car Thank you!  Or better yet… watch from a boat! 

In the event of rain, join us at the Mt. Sabattis Pavilion for the Live Music. 

All rules are subject to review and revision by the Hamilton County Public Health Department. Please be patient. 


Ongoing: All physical distancing protocols are currently in place for all parks and public spaces in Long Lake & Raquette Lake. Maintain six feet apart and please wear masks/cloth face-coverings when visiting public spaces and businesses in our community. 


Kids Art Classes

Kids Art Classes with Cindy Black | Wednesday’s | 1pm – 3pm
Kids draw iconic Adirondack Wildlife.  All levels welcome to participate.  $5 per class.  All art materials are provided.  Walk in’s are welcome.

Summer Concerts and Events at Saint Williams Long Point | Raquette Lake, NY
Concerts are happening in 2021 – but you must come by your own boat!  Listen lakeside. Performances on the lawn! 


The Saint Williams concert series is made possible, in part, with funds from the Decentralization Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature and is administered by the Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts.

Wednesday, July 21, 2021 7pm | $5 per car

Teams and cars drive around Long Lake following a special set of cryptic instructions.  Whichever teams returns to homebase the closest to the official time without going over… wins!  Cash prizes.  

Past events have included – Singing to a stuffed bear, singing in Hoss’s, playing leapfrog on the Long Lake Town Beach and discovering mysterious secrets of Long Lake.   


Long Lake Town Wide Garage Sale:
Still happening in 2021

Always the second Saturday in August in Long Lake, NY.  Traditionally buyers can find gently used 2nd hand furniture, boats, clothing, toys and so much more.  Explore the side roads and uncover your treasure.  Maps available at 1130 Deerland Road or at area businesses and at the sales too!

Author’s Night at Hoss’s Country Corner:

Always the second Tuesday in August at Hoss’s Country Corner. Adirondack Author’s converge under the big red tent to sign autography, showcase their work. Meet the Author’s.  Purchase your favorite books, get your souvenir shopping in with a personalized writer’s touch. The wide range of authors include fiction, comedy, Adirondack Lore and history, maps, paddling, hiking.  You name it, these author’s have lived it.  Meet them and find out what inspired them to put pen to paper.  

Enjoy live music and treats. A truly important event in Long Lake celebrating our authors. Come one come all.

This is a weekend of activities in celebration of William West Durant, the inventor of the Great Camps Style Architecture, which was started right here in Raquette Lake.  

 Saturday tour St. Williams on Long Point, Silent Auction and Concert by Wide Variety at 2pm at St. Williams. Boat Transportation provided  from RL Town Dock

Join the Ladies Auxiliary at 2 p.m. – 6 p.m., at the Raquette Lake Village Green for a fundraiser with live music with Matt Grainger. Vendors will be on site including: Mary Blanchard’s South Bay Jewelry, RC (David) Oster Painting, Pampered Chef, Life in the ADK, Pat Deyle’s Hand Carving, Local Artisan’s and the Knitting Ladies!  All vendors to change without notice** This is a partial list of previous years vendors.

In addition to the live music, enjoy baked goods, a Chinese Raffle and a 50/50 to support the Raquette Lake Mudsliders Softball Team. More to be announced.

Craft fair at 10am at the Raquette Lake Union Free School, Annual Book Sale starting at 10am at the library and annual fire department and ambulance squad auction at 6pm.
