Show Up Kids at the Adirondack Hotel, Long Lake NY

Interactive Family Comedy “Show Up, Kids!” Plays Adirondack Hotel July 11 at Noon

LONG LAKE, NY – Following critically acclaimed runs in NYC, Hollywood, and Edinburgh, Peter Michael Marino’s interactive “Show Up, Kids!” plays the Adirondack Hotel on July 11 at noon. This entirely unique, semi-improvised, family show for kids 3-10 years old puts a comedic twist on the traditional kids’ show. When the main attraction doesn’t show up, Pete enlists the kids (and adults) to help create a show from set to sound, plot to props, and costumes to characters. What could possibly go wrong?

The event kicks off at noon with a Pizza Party Buffet featuring assorted pizzas, chicken fingers, juices and cookies. Performance starts at 12:15pm and runs for one hour. Reservations can be made by emailing adkhotel@frontiernet.net or by calling 518-624-4700.

★★★★★ “Marino handles the unpredictability of working with children in an improvised environment with great skill and grace, putting on a fantastic performance which my children were talking about long after the show.” – Backstage on the Fringe

“Fantastic fun! A one-man whirling dervish of energy, comic timing, physical agility, and out and out hilarity. The kids were absolutely mesmerized!” – The Front Row Center

“This show is not like any other show. Usually, the kids are just watching things happen, but here, kids are actually part of the show. Pete definitely has a superpower!”- Kids News NYC

★★★★ “Hilarious! Marino knows what kids find funny. A show of this caliber is an opportunity to show up for!” – The Wee Review

Show Up Show Encore Long Lake December 30th

Long Lake, NY – Following the recent critically acclaimed, sold out runs in NYC and the 2017 Edinburgh Fringe, Peter Michael Marino’s semi-improvised, one-man comedy “Show Up” returns to Long Lake at the Adirondack Hotel for a special encore performance on Saturday, December 30 at 6:00 p.m. In “Show Up,” award winning NYC-based solo show performer, producer and director Peter Michael Marino uses his decades of comedy, improv and solo performance experience to create an improvised comedy based on the good, bad and ugly experiences of the Adirondack audience – who also lend a hand in the set and sound design. And there’s a party!

In October, Peter wowed Long Lake audiences on two nights, and both performances were completely different.  Peter’s ability to engage the audience to reveal their own stories propels Show Up on a journey of the unexpected.  Peter never knows what is in store, but when he peppers the audience with questions and suggestions to help craft the story, there is guaranteed laughter, hilarity and some honest truths revealed.

An array of Adirondack Hotel appetizers will be served starting at 6:00 p.m. with the performance beginning shortly after 6:15p.m. Cash bar available throughout the 75-minute show, concluding with a complimentary champagne toast. Show up and spend the night! Receive a discount for Adirondack Hotel lodging by presenting your ticket reservation.

Tickets are $25 per person and include show, appetizers and champagne toast. Reservations are required by phoning or emailing the Adirondack Hotel at 518-624-4700 or adkhotel@frontiernet.net. 4th of July Bed Races

Snow may still be on the ground, but plans are already underway for the 2014 Bed Race competition. Now having been in full rotation for the last five years, organizers are hoping for a record turnout of beds as the 4th of July falls on a Friday.

Bed-Races

Here’s a look at a highlight reel just released by the Long Lake Parks and Recreation Department. Mobile Friendly Video Link

“Last year we had three beds arrive at the last minute and they were ready to race. Only problem was we only had two slots available.” The race organizers ask that anyone planning on participating the races contact the Long Lake Parks and Recreation Department well in advance to secure their spot. It helps plan for the set up, brackets and even the scripted material for MC Peter-Michael Marino to call the races. “He adds a sense of comedy, timing, storytelling and hilarity to the event. He stops cars and interviews passers by. He’s been visiting Long Lake for over 25 years and knows visitors are looking for an entertaining race.”
