This is the 2nd year of the Long Lake Ice Fishing Derby on Lake Eaton. The LL Fish and Game Club has geared up to add to the long list of winter events in and around Long Lake and Raquette Lake. Last year saw 15 participants sharing all the loot! So 2014 we anticipate some bigger numbers and we don’t have to contend with a big winter blizzard (ala NEMO) that we dealt with in 2013. So gear up, drag your shacks over and get on the ice!
Lake Eaton Ice Fishing Derby. Registration at the LL Town Hall at 6am or on-going at the Adk Trading Post. $25 a person. Cash Prizes and CLAM Tamarack 5×5 from Gander Mt. Portable unit, valued at $150 as a special door prize! Landlocked Salmon or Lake Trout.
Bring the whole family, bring the grill, bring your fishing license, tip-ups, cameras and make memories.
Snowmobile Trails are open with fair to marginal conditions. 10 inches of fresh snow has packed town to 2 inches of base and 3 inches of snow cover on most interior trails. Banks have been cut on Forked Lake and North Point Road AND on Sabattis Road. As soon as we know about the tracks we will let you know, but they still need more snow to cover the rails.
Moonlighter’s Poker Run. Pick up a card at the RL Tap Room or Newcomb House either Friday or Saturday. Collect stamps at participating businesses. After party and Dealing starts at 4pm, LL Diner, Saturday, Feb 8th. Live Music with Eric Peter.
